What are Performing rights?
Updated over 10 months ago

The Performing right is the right to publicly perform a Musical Work.

This includes music streaming as well as TV and radio play, so streaming services and broadcasters must pay performance royalties to the copyright owners of the Musical Works they perform.

Performing rights are administered by Performing Rights Organisations (PROs) such as PRS in the UK, and ASCAP and BMI in the US.
