How to submit a copyright infringement claim

If a release distributed through Ditto infringes your copyright or trademark rights, we recommend trying to contact the artist directly first to seek an amicable resolution.

If this is not possible, you should submit an official infringement claim to the platform where the content has been uploaded.

Where to submit a copyright infringement claim

Submit your claim to a platform directly through the following links:

You only need to file a claim with one platform. Once a store notifies us of a claim, we begin our infringement process across all platforms.

What happens after you submit a claim

The platform will review the case, remove the content from its own service, and notify Ditto as the distributor. We will then contact the artist involved and give them the following deadline to provide proof that they hold the rights to the release:

  • 5 working days for claims received from Spotify or Apple Music

  • 2 working days for claims received from other platforms

If the artist does not respond by the deadline, or confirms they do not hold the rights, we will remove the release from all platforms.

If the artist provides documentation or evidence, we forward it to the platform, who then decide whether it is sufficient for the content to be reinstated.

Please keep in mind that some platforms, including Spotify, may keep content unavailable until you and the artist reach an agreement, even where evidence of rights has been provided.

We cannot intervene more directly in these types of disputes. As a distributor, we must remain impartial and follow the procedures established by the platforms to ensure a fair resolution for both parties.
