If you have received a copyright claim on your video from Ditto, don’t worry—this is completely normal and not something to be concerned about.
Why did I get a copyright claim on my video?
The claim was made because your track has been delivered to YouTube’s Content ID system through Ditto. This allows YouTube to automatically identify, claim, monetise and manage the use of your music across the platform.
Does this affect my channel?
No, a copyright claim is not the same as a copyright strike. It does not negatively impact your channel or videos.
However, any ad revenue generated from the video may go to the rights holder (Ditto on your behalf) instead of your channel. We collect this and deposit it into your Ditto account.
What if I want to monetize the video myself?
If your channel is part of the YouTube Partner Program (YTPP) and you wish to monetize the video yourself, you can request the removal of the claim.
To do so, please contact our support team from the email address associated with your Ditto account. Make sure to include the following details in your request:
The video's URL
The UPC of the track used in the video
Once we verify your request, we’ll remove the claim so you can monetize the video directly.
