Why don’t my streams and views match my royalty payments?
Why don’t my streams and views match my royalty payments?
Updated over a week ago

You may notice that the number of streams or views shown on different platforms doesn't always match the royalties you've received. Here are a few reasons why this might happen:

1. Royalties vs. streaming data

The royalties Ditto pays you are based on actual sales data, which can differ from the streaming figures displayed on platforms like Spotify and YouTube. 🎶

2. Eligible streams

Your Ditto dashboard only shows streams that are eligible to earn royalties, while platforms like Spotify for Artists may report all streams, including those that don’t generate payments.

3. Delayed reporting

Some stores can also take 3-4 months to report sales data. We’ll update your royalty balance as soon as we receive this.

Remember: Analytics tools like Spotify for Artists and YouTube for Artists are designed to help you understand your audience and track your music’s performance in real time, but they don't directly reflect your actual sales or royalties. 💸
