How do I find my YouTube Topic Channel ID?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

YouTube Topic Channels are autogenerated by the platform whenever an artist releases music on YouTube. These channels initially host releases on a generic "Release Topic" channel before being moved to an artist-specific Topic Channel as part of YouTube's automatic artist mapping process.

If you've already released music to YouTube and want to set up an Official Artist Channel, you'll need to provide your Topic Channel ID. If your Topic Channel ID appears invalid or blank, it may be because YouTube has not yet created a dedicated Topic Channel for your artist. In such cases, releases are temporarily placed on a generic Release Topic channel.

How to find your YouTube Topic Channel ID If you encounter issues with your Topic Channel ID, such as it being invalid or blank, ensure that your releases have been mapped to a dedicated Topic Channel and not just a generic Release Topic channel.

Your Topic Channel ID can be found at the end of your YouTube topic channel URL. Ensure that you copy only the string of letters and numbers after '/channel/' and avoid including extra characters or the full URL.

It consists of a string of letters, numbers, and special characters after /channel/ - as shown below.

You can submit your Topic Channel ID to claim your Official Artist channel here! Before submitting, ensure you meet the eligibility criteria, such as having an active Ditto PRO or Label subscription, a dedicated YouTube channel, and at least one release delivered to YouTube Music.
