Why has my release been removed from Instagram, Facebook or Meta?
Why has my release been removed from Instagram, Facebook or Meta?
Updated this week

If your release has been removed from Instagram, Facebook and Meta services, it may have been flagged as ineligible content.

Meta restricts audio to original, fully owned content to prevent claims and disputes. This is why they block music that includes leased beats, samples, or public domain content.

Ineligible content on Instagram, Facebook and Meta services include:

  • Non-exclusive beats (purchased or leased)

  • Is already fingerprinted elsewhere without prior notification

  • Contains samples, loops, or sound effects (from sources like GarageBand, Splice, Epidemic Sounds)

  • Is a soundalike recording (e.g., slowed/reverb versions)

  • Includes Creative Commons or public domain content (hymns, classical, nursery rhymes, holiday songs)

  • Features ambient or meditation audio (nature sounds, binaural beats, sleep music)

  • Is a generic instrumental

  • Is a compilation album or various artist release (without full master rights)

  • Includes video game, TV, or film soundtracks (unless submitted by the publisher)

  • Contains music used for monetization intros/outros

  • Is part of an EP or album with mixed eligibility
